Morning check-in with the overnight team at 7:30 for POCUS consults, Monday to Friday.
Available to the GIM Consult Team, and the 8 in-patient Medicine Teams for consults throughout the day until 3pm.
Perform POCUS studies with suggested clinical application of findings.
Review POCUS studies with POCUS Faculty.
Typically Bedside Scanning Teaching occurs Monday morning and Weekly Image Review and Paper Discussion occur Friday afternoon.
Acquisition: Have dedicated time to hone your POCUS acquisition. There will be dedicated time every week focused on acquisition.
Interpretation: Review your and other POCUS studies. There will be dedicated time at the end of each week to review the highest-yield studies.
Application: Generate clinical plans based on the POCUS findings. These plans are suggested by you, and reviewed daily by the POCUS staff.
Key Literature: There are weekly assigned landmark papers to all learners, which are discussed at the end of the week.
Teaching: Learners are expected to act as near-peer teachers for other POCUS sessions that are occurring within UGME and PGME.
Collaborator: Learners are expected to attend QSoNic rounds with Emergency Medicine, Anesthesia, and Critical Care Medicine during the last week of the month. Be prepared to discuss your studies.
